Jack Roady uncompressed

Jack Roady was first elected Galveston County Criminal District Attorney in 2010, and was re-elected to a fourth four-year term in 2022.  Before that, Jack served as a trial and appellate prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in Houston for ten years.  As Criminal District Attorney, Jack serves alongside a team of 42 assistant district attorneys, 6 peace officers, and 25 support staff, who together prosecute more than 10,000 misdemeanor and felony cases each year in Galveston County.

 Jack is current Chairman of the Texas District & County Attorneys Association and is an appointed member of the Texas Criminal Justice Integrity Unit.  In 2016, he was named Prosecutor of the Year by the State Bar of Texas Criminal Justice Section for his work to ensure the reliability of forensic DNA evidence in criminal cases. 

 Jack attended Texas A&M University at Galveston, earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, and earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.

 Jack is an active board member of the Pregnancy and Parenting Support Center, Lighthouse Christian Ministries, the 4B Disaster Response Network, and the Advocacy Center for Children of Galveston County.  Jack previously served on the boards of West Galveston County Interfaith Caring Ministries, the Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County and the Gulf Coast Coalition Against Human Trafficking.
