Douglas Hudson
Chief Deputy – Corrections Bureau
Chief Douglas Hudson, born and raised on Galveston Island, began his Law Enforcement career in 1988 as a Correctional Deputy for the Galveston County Sheriff's Office. Roughly five years later, Deputy Hudson transferred to the patrol division and began protecting our citizens from the streets.
In 1996 he transferred to the Warrant Division where his career would start to excel. It took only a few years, and he began to climb the ranks within that division. Deputy Hudson was promoted to Sergeant in 2001.
It would be another 12 years, but his growth, leadership, tenacity, experience, and efficiency led to his promotion as Captain in 2013. It would only take two years as Captain Hudson to become Major Hudson and take on the responsibility overseeing the Law Enforcement Bureau.
Proving he was not afraid of challenges and success, Major Hudson accepted the position of Chief Deputy over the Corrections Bureau in 2018. Thirty one years in Law Enforcement, a Galvestonian, and a tested leader; Chief Hudson strives each day to improve and set the standard for his staff.
