On March 2021, the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF), an extension of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), was enacted into law with the intention to support State, local, territorial, and tribal governments to respond to the negative impacts caused the COVID-19 public health emergency.

The ARPA Galveston County projects are in alignment with the overall purpose of the American Rescue Plan Act, which is to address the effects of the COVID-19 public health emergency by maintaining vital public services, mitigating COVID-19,  and creating strong, resilient, and equitable recovery towards long-term growth.
