Providing Adventures, Healthy Meals, Activities and More!

Galveston County Senior Centers is a division of Galveston County Parks & Cultural Services. Our centers offer a comprehensive approach to ensuring seniors receive adequate nutrition, recreation, and wellness programs. Whether your interested in joining us for fitness class, a midday meal or stimulating day trips, we welcome you.

Monthly

    • Our members take approximately 1,400 trips to and from our community centers, local pharmacies, local banks, post office, grocery stores, Walmart, Dollar stores, day trips, outings, special events and more.
    • We serve more than 2,400 nutritious meals at our three (3) senior centers.
    • We provide over 60 wellness activities that touch on the 7 domains of wellness.

 Our Facilities Offer

  • Multi-purpose rooms for…
    • Professional health and wellness presentations
    • Sponsored events from healthcare organizations that specialize in senior care).
  • Crafting rooms (Puzzles, knitting, painting, drawing and other crafts).
  • Fitness rooms (free weights, elliptical, bicycle, treadmill complete with a disinfecting station).
  • Business stations with Guest WIFI, computers, copier and scanners.
  • Coffee and Tea station
  • Full service Kitchens
  • Fitness programs (sit & be fit, walk and talk, gentle joints, chair yoga, yogacize, and strength training classes).
  • Game time (board games, Wii sports, bowling, social games, dominoes, chest, card games and more).
  • Transportation for essential shopping and errands (local grocery stores, Post offices, Banks, and Pharmacies)
  • Out of county day trips to places like Liberty flea markets, Brenham ice cream factories, Shiner Texas farms.
    • (Museums, restaurants, farmers markets, antique shops, boat tours, thrift stores, sporting events and more).
